A Visit to Ruby 1/15/2021 Ruby is an old mining town. Back in the early 1900's, millions of dollars were drawn from the Montana Mine and the town had over 1000 inhabitants. But in 1940, the mine closed, and by 1941 the town was deserted. Most of the buildings are still there and open for tours.
