We had lots of clouds and really strong winds as well as biting cold temps, so we drove the rim roads and did the overlooks instead of doing the jeep tour we had planned on. It was also home to indigenous cultures who left a lot of petroglyphs and pictographs on the canyon walls. There is an old stagecoach stop that grew into a small town, then died away. We ran into a blizzard the first day we attempted this drive, so we gave up and came back the following day.
